The University of Coimbra Institute for Legal Research (UCILeR) will hold a conference, in English, about “Legal approaches to intersectionality in political and civic participation”.
The two-day event will include a seminar on 11 June with experienced national and international researchers in the field of intersectionality in participatory democracy.
On 12 June, the Portuguese version of the EU-CIEMBLY Glossary on democracy will be presented and a workshop entitled “Young Citizens’ Assembly: Participation, Inclusion and Democracy in Europe” will be held, adopting a participatory, pedagogical approach inspired by the citizens’ assembly model, focusing on promoting inclusion and democratic deliberation among young people. It aims to foster critical thinking, argumentation, and active citizenship skills, while also reflecting on the potential of citizens’ assemblies as instruments for enhancing democratic participation and social inclusion in the European context.
