As part of the activities within the EU-CIEMBLY project, the University of Coimbra Institute for Legal Research will hold a conference on “Legal approaches to intersectionality in political and civic participation”.
The two-day event will include a seminar on 11 June (hybrid format) with experienced international researchers in the field of intersectionality in participatory democracy. Three different panels will focus on intersectionality in democratic life, intersectional-embedded policy and intersectional-embedded citizens assemblies. The conference will conclude with a call for papers presentations.
On 12 June (on-site), the Portuguese version of the EU-CIEMBLY Glossary will be presented with the participation of the professors and students from the Humanities Faculty of the University of Coimbra who were responsible for the translation. The programme will close with the workshop "Young Citizens’ Assembly: Participation, Inclusion and Democracy in Europe”, as an excellent opportunity for students to actively engage with intersectionality and deliberative democracy.
