The event “Intersectionality in Public Life: What’s Law Got To Do With It?” was held on 5 December 2025, at Colégio da Trindade of the University of Coimbra Institute for Legal Research, and online.
The event was organised as part of the EU-CIEMBLY project and aimed to discuss developments (both past and ongoing) in anti-discrimination law resulting from the introduction of the concept of intersectionality into the legal sphere.
This event was the first in a series that will continue with a second one focusing on intersectionality in public participation. The event “Legal Approaches to Intersectionality in Political and Civic Participation” will be held on 11 and 12 June 2026. The call for papers can be found here.

O evento “Intersectionality in Public Life: What’s Law Got To Do With It?” teve lugar no dia 5 de dezembro de 2025, no Colégio da Trindade e online.
Este evento, integrado no projeto Eu-Ciembly e integralmente em inglês, teve por objetivo debater as evoluções (ocorridas e em desenvolvimento) no âmbito do direito antidiscriminatório decorrentes da introdução, na esfera jurídica, do conceito de interseccionalidade.
